Time For a House Warming Party?
So are we moved in yet? Sadly no because everything takes longer than my brain believes it should *insert laughing and crying all at once* But we are still closer! My dad was a huge help for the 3 weeks he was here and we would be much farther behind than we are had he not come. The drywall took longer than any of us planned but at least it got finished. We currently have painting, wiring (except the ductless heat/air which should get done today), flooring downstairs, toilet, sink, and a front door! Water heater will also be finished today. Before drywall went up we took a hose and hooked it up to the piping and thankfully no leaks anywhere.
So what do we have left in order to ACTUALLY move in? We need the final electrical inspection, water line still needs to be dug to the house (hoping to accomplish that tomorrow before storms come in) and one more thing I can't think of for the life of me right now. The plan is to dig the trench tomorrow, lay down carpet upstairs in the loft and get the inspection next week for electrical. If that is done then we can move in. There are still things to be completed but we would have a dry place where we could use the toilet and brush our teeth and that is what is most important. I think that's enough words, picture time.
Ignore the green cabinets, they did not turn out the way we wanted so we're going to repaint them. After our Oregon remodel I've come to loathe painting and it certainly hasn't changed with this place.

Nate finally got his big boy tractor, couldn't put off buying one anymore with the grass growing like crazy, he's quite happy.
Firepits and baby birds...love spring/almost summer time.
One more exciting note, for some reason the fireflies (lightening bugs) came out really early this year. They started a couple weeks ago and I screamed with excitement the first night I saw one. There isn't a ton yet but I've always loved them and was so happy to see them again.
